Jacob Swanson joined Journey North as an outreach associate in April 2023, continuing with the program and moving to program coordinator as it migrated to the Monarch Joint Venture in 2025. Jacob grew up in Peshtigo, Wisconsin, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2018. He enjoys wildlife watching and photography, as well as hiking, fishing, and camping.
Caring for nature is like a snowball rolling down a hill: once that ball starts rolling, it continually gains momentum, growing bigger and bigger. I want Journey North to be that first nudge down the hill that gets people excited about the world's migratory birds and insects. After you get involved for the first time, the sky's the limit.
